The player-coach duo of Michael Phelps and Bob Bowman created miracles in the history of swimming. As a humble pupil Phelps has always been thankful to his coaches for making similar contributions. Recently, the “flying fish” reposted a picture of the swimming records that he made. He is still the only one to make highest records in one world championship and he shares the credit with his mentor.

After almost seven years of his retirement, it indeed feels great for the legend to look back to some of his unbroken records. The maestro thanked his coach and shared a story on his social media.

Recently, Swimmingstats shared a list of participants who made history in the sport of swimming. Phelps reposted a picture as a story on his Instagram handle and captioned it with “We made a pretty good team” tagging his coach Bob Bowman. Bowman reposted the picture, tagging Phelps, and wrote, “You were and are still on another level.”

 

Evidently from the post, the “flying fish” still holds the 5 highest world records he made in 2003 and 2007 in long course meters. The gold medalist continued to make wonders for nearly two decades and ended up having 39 world records to his name before his retirement. The Baltimore star was the epitome of dominance in the sport and is still feared by today?s swimmers. With the 2023 World Aquatics Championships coming up in next July, there will be ample chance for the prodigies to break records and set up new ones.

Does Phelps still?own some records?

With young pro, Maximus Williamson, breaking Phelps’s record in the 400m individual medley his bag is emptying. In 2019 Caeleb Dressel took 49.50 seconds to finish the 100m race. Thus, broke Phelps’s long-standing record of 49.82 seconds. Hungarian swimmer Kristof Milak broke Phelps? 200m world record in 1:50:73. Though most of his records are already broken, the legend stands still with some of his unbeatable ones.

Notably, the veteran swimmer still holds the 200m Butterfly in NAG 15-16, and all 4 records in NAG 17-18 ? 100m Butterfly, 200m IM, 400m IM, and 200m freestyle. With emerging talents, it feels amazing for the legend to experience the miracles that the sport can make.
