The second leg of the Swimming World Cup 2023 has officially commenced in Athens, Greece. The swimming fans will get to see their favorite athletes from Berlin once more in action. However, this weekend, many nations have expanded their arsenal, and the United States is not far behind. Team USA has introduced many rising talents in Athens who are girded to take the swimming world by storm.
These athletes have proven their mettle in the national competitions and are looking forward to success in the elite international stage. Team USA has added 12 swimmers to their roster, and all except one are teenagers. The United States has banked on the potential of young swimmers to make an impact at the Swimming World Cup 2023.

During the Berlin meet, 16-year-old Claire Weinstein and 17-year-old Katie Grimes carried the torch for Team USA. According to World Aquatics, the United States added 11 more teenagers to their lineup for the Athens meet.
The twelfth addition is Taylor Mc Coy, who is 22 years old and is still relatively young compared to the seasoned veterans who have represented the nation so far.
Among these 11 new faces at the Swimming World Cup 2023, one swimmer definitely deserves some extra love. That athlete is, of course, Gabe Anagnoson who belies his athletic prowess with his youthful appearance.
The 17-year-old talented swimmer has won the hearts of all in his country. As a versatile swimmer, he has exhibited immense potential in multiple competitions. In the NAG 15-16, he still occupies the seventh-fastest finish in the 100 Y backstroke. As per the FINA point system metric, he scored 539.62 in the open age group in 2023. Now, he has set his sights on conquering the international stage at the Swimming World Cup 2023. However, Team USA is not the only federation to bring young talent to Athens.

Many other nations have beefed up their lineup with fresh inclusions of new blood for the Swimming World Cup 2023. Pieter Coetze, 19, will bear the ambition of the Republic of South Africa in Greece while veteran swimmer Ryan Coetzee joins him to assist his younger teammate.
He will need all the help he can get as Pieter Coetze will face Ryosuke Irie of Japan and Thomas Ceccon of Italy for the backstroke title. Similarly, the rosters of Sweden, Canada, and Denmark have also grown with swimmers who are still in their early twenties.

Only China and Australia have kept their rosters intact for the Athens meeting of the Swimming World Cup 2023. China will once again rely on Qin Haiyang, who scored the highest point and became the meet winner in Berlin. He is getting prepared to dominate the pool once more and clinch more victories.
