Throwback to when Michael Phelps lost at poker
In 2013, the legendary Olympian decided to showcase his talents to his fans when he stopped for a hand at World Poker Competition. The die-hard fans of Phelps know he loves the sport. While being there, Phelps played his hand at quite a few games, winning them all until his luck finally ran out.
The Guillaume Rivet and Michael Phelps duo was at the table, playing a high-tension match. Rivet bet an amount of $24,000 and Michael had to call. Rivet revealed his deck with a perfect array of a full house, pretty much knocking Phelps off. The commentators confirmed that it was “Michael’s first misstep.”
But, it was not the only one. In the video which resurfaced, Michael had made an even bigger mistake. In his last match against Sabat, Phelps bet all way in at $55,500.
But Sabat turned out his deck as the swimmer called. But his deck was top-notch and long story short, our Olympian got KO-ed. Even Phelps himself was astounded by this, quickly throwing his cards down while his face had a look of disbelief.
