Simone Manuel, who was recently diagnosed with OTS (Overtraining syndrome), secured a bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, as well as the Gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Now, she again triumphs in the TYR Pro Series which is a major swimming competition that consists of players from all around the world. This series concluded with the 100 freestyle prelims where Simone Manuel emerged in the first place despite her irregular spree. 

Simone Manuel just served up to her expectations through her astonishing performance in the TYR Pro Series with a record-breaking performance as she completed the race in just 53.35 seconds. TYR Pro Series was full of thrill, which can be proved by the difference between the top 3 competitors’ finishing time, which was just mere milliseconds!

An exciting end to the TYR Pro series

The 100 freestyle competition consisted of some of the top swimmers around the globe, and the results were even more exciting. Through a recent post, USA Swimming News shared on their X handle, “FINAL: Simone Manuel, 53.35, Torri Huske, 53.39, Abbey Weitzeil, 53.95”. The runner-ups included Torri Huske in the second position, and Abbey Weitzeil in the third. This 100m freestyle marked Simone Manuel’s fastest since 2020. She swam with her best potential to make the grandest return to her own standards. She topped the competition through her 53.35 clock record, which provided her the edge over Torri Huske and Abbey Weitzeil.

Despite all the challenges, Simone Manuel delivered a marvellous performance at the event, which proved her efforts during the 5-month hiatus from the sport. The 27-year-old effectively showed her command over the lane with her skills. She took the first position with a difference of 0.03 seconds and is looking forward to widening the gap next time. This is just the initial step towards proving her potential, and there is more to come for the swimmer.

Not the end, but just a step closer to the dream

After putting up the results to her expectations, the swimmer is just proving herself with every performance. Now that she has dominated the TYR Pro Series, she is preparing herself for her Olympic trials in June. Taking a five-month gap from swimming, Manuel recovered right and is back to dominating the sport with her commendable upskills. Her eyes are set on the Gold at the Paris Olympics 2024.
