It’s now been over a week since the sad demise of Michael Phelps’ father. Last week, in the wee hours of Monday, Phelps took to his Instagram account to share the heartbreaking news. The unexpected news shocked everyone. Prayers and wishes poured in numbers to support the Phelps family in their difficult time.

Shaken by the recent happenings, Phelps’ eldest sister Hilary shared a video of multiple photo collages. As ‘You’re the Inspiration’ plays in the background, Hilary pours her heart into the post.

Michael’s sister pays her father a heartfelt tribute?

Despite the happenings, the time waits for none. It’s been over a week since Fred left for his heavenly abode. The family is still processing and mourning the loss.

Left with the memories, the eldest Phelps sibling had nothing but gratitude for everything her father had done for them. She?wrote,?“Thank you, dad, for always believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself.”?She added,?”you are the most selfless person I’ve ever met.”

From teaching her how to ride a bike to driving a car, senior Phelps played an instrumental role in her life. He even broke away from the tough guy’s image for his daughter’s happiness. Hilary revealed, “he stitched the Serenity Prayer” for her when Alexander was born.

Fred may not be physically present with her, but she knows,?“everywhere I go, you’re always on my mind, in my heart, in my soul.”?However, Hilary was not the only one to remember Fred; the news even broke?Michael?from the inside.

Michael Phelps, too, paid tribute to his late father?

Michael’s relationship with his father may not have been perfect, but there was no denying his affection for him. Fred always stood with him and encouraged him in his endeavors. For the unversed, Fred played football all through high school and college, playing at Fairmont State College in West Virginia. He was a Maryland State Trooper for 28 years. He even tried to get into the NFL Washington (now Commanders) squad.

Sharing his love for his father, he?wrote,?“You’ll always be my dad? And I’ll always be your son? Love you, dad, and I will miss you. RIP, dad.”

Time loss is beyond expression, but like good old times, they have each other’s back. Hopefully, the Phelps family will soon come out of the grief fans and friends are there for them in this difficult hour.
