Taylor Swift has been bolstering her already evergreen musical magic for quite some time now. The popstar has fans in every nook and cranny and many come from the sporting realm as well. A US Olympian swimmer recently shared her own list of Taylor Swift songs she deeply cherishes.

Kate Douglas is a 7x NCAA champion swimmer. The 21-year-old swimming prodigy is one of the most prominently rising stars and is part of the American National Team. In a recent interview, the swimming superstar unveiled the names of her favorite Taylor Swift songs. In fact, the names she took proved that Douglas isn’t a bandwagon fan but is a hardcore Swiftie.

Taylor Swift has brought almost every music fan under one umbrella with her massive hits. The pop star has been delivering non-stop for her fans and is performing at concerts and reincarnating her disputed albums. Like every Taylor Swift fan, Kate Douglas is also paying close attention to every move the musician is making.

In a recent interview along with her best friend Claire Curzan, Kate Douglas divulged her top Taylor Swift picks. Virginia Swimming and Diving uploaded the interview on the Instagram stories of its official Instagram handle. The 21-year-old said “My all-time favorite is ‘Our Song’, one of her first albums. And then ‘All Too Well’, the 10-minute version. It’s a classic, it’s so good.” 

Her answers clearly portray that she’s hooked on the 2006 magic of Taylor Swift, as well as the new Taylor’s Version songs. The songs Douglas named instantly make her a bonafide Swiftie. Interestingly, Curzan let out an audible gasp when Douglas named ‘Our Song’ as her favorite. This concludes that both besties also love the same Taylor Swift song the most. 

While Curzan and Douglas share the same top Taylor Swift pick, they may not be sharing the same careers very soon. In what comes as a shocking update, Kate Douglas said that she will be retiring from the sport of swimming. In fact, she also said that she will be making the move soon and is looking forward to it.

Douglas punches fans in the gut with retirement update

Speaking in the same interview, Kate Douglas revealed that she will soon be bidding farewell to swimming. According to Douglas, “I see retirement in the near future. I don’t know when, but it’s coming. And I’m looking forward to it.”

This update has punched all swimming fans in the gut. Considering her young age, fans expected the 21-year-old to have a longer career. While Douglas didn’t exactly mention a specific date, she did mention that she would be participating in the Olympic trials.

She also disclosed that she’ll be participating in the US Open as well, and will compete in almost all categories. Although this doesn’t really bring fans any joy, it does relieve them that their champion is participating wholeheartedly.
