The swimming world has been graced by so many dedicated and diligent talents in its decades-long history. Australian swimming prodigy and one of the in-pool rivals of Katie Ledecky, Ariarne Titmus, is also one of the prominent swimmers on that list, with four Olympic medals and nine world championship medals framed on her wall of fame.
However, the women’s 400-meter freestyle world record holder encountered a significant setback this year in September when she was diagnosed with benign tumors. For which the swimmer had to undergo an operation and take some time off the pool to recover.
It looks like the Launceston native has recovered from the surgery and is all set to resume her swimming endeavors. In a recent social media update, Titmus thrilled her fans by dropping a hint about her return and appearing ready for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A legend returns to her yard
Titmus took it to her Instagram story and shared a captivating insight from her workout session. The clip was accompanied by the caption, “Big jump in training load this week which I’m proud of. Just trying to listen to my body and make the most of everyday”, with a victory emoji. In the video, the swimmer can be seen doing chin-ups and looks in good shape health-wise. The freestyle genius has been facing some hip-related problems in the past, for which she got her scans done, and it was then that the doctors found something beyond just the hip condition.
It was reported that she had two benign tumors on her right ovary. As a result, she underwent surgery on September 14th, during which the tumors were removed. The health update was given by the 23-year-old swimmer herself five weeks ago on her Instagram. In a career spanning over years, the reigning women’s 200-meter and 400-meter freestyle Olympic champion has been a treat to watch for the swimming world, with all those accolades under her belt.
