Everyone is aware of the legacy the most decorated swimmer, Michael Phelps, has created. He has mastered Olympic swimming strokes like a butterfly, backstroke, and freestyle. However, one more legend, Katie Ledecky, has proven her excellent work with the help of her beautiful butterfly stroke.

Fans of swimming sports are always eager to learn about Katies’ journey since she first dived into the pool. During an interview, Ledecky opened up about the most awaited question as she visited her childhood swimming pool.

Katie started her first swimming lessons in Palisades Pool when she was a child. After taking home four gold medals in 2013, Katie revisited her swimming pool to relish some old memories. Meanwhile, cherishing the memories related to her career, the interviewer recalled the most important question.

Susan Kenedy asked Katie to narrate how she felt when the US women’s swimming team coaches called her ‘Not normal.‘ Ledecky delightfully shared, “I take it as a compliment. It’s such an honor to be part of a team with such great guys and girls, and we just have fun with what we do.”

Katie made a spree of record-breaking deals as she swam her way to the winning. Even she got 17th rank on the list of world championships with the 1500m event. The American swimmer ended the race with a 14-second advantage over another athlete named, Katie Grimes. However, Ledecky never failed to demonstrate her talent infront of rivals.

Katie’s staggering career 

In total, Katie holds 10 Olympics and 15 world championship gold medals. She was often seen together with legendary swimmer, Michael Phelps, near the pool. Nevertheless, the London Olympics in 2012, turned out to be Katie’s most major professional breakthrough. She broke many American records in freestyle swimming at the age of 15. However, what’s most recognized from the beginning of her career was her first record-breaking time, 8:14.63, which made her win the first gold.

Ledecky is also known as the GOAT of the Women’s swimming team due to her fruitful performance since her debut. In 2016, just like Michael, she won the gold medal in 200, 400, and 800m. She didn’t even stop there; the swimming legend further in 2017, won six more gold awards. And she added two more gold medals during the last Olympics in Tokyo. Like a champion, there is nothing that can slow her down from going toward her goals.
