Swimming mishap that caused a stir in the community

As reported by Azatutyun, 56-year-old Oleksandr Senchenko, who was a top Ukrainian diplomat, was found dead at Lake Sevan, Armenia. Lake Sevan is reported to be situated at 6,234 feet above sea level and is the largest local lake. The incident took place on the evening of August 13, and he was found dead around 80 feet from the shore. According to the report, “Lifeguards swam towards the area and lifted a man from the bottom that was 1.5 meters deep, taking him to the shore on a rubber motor boat. Ambulance service workers registered the man’s death.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has confirmed the reports of his demise and offered its condolences to his family and friends. The ministry also stated that they are deeply saddened by the news and that he was one of Ukraine’s most experienced and highly qualified ambassadors. He had been working for the Ukrainian government since 2003 and was a torchbearer in Ukraine’s diplomatic missions in Russia and Azerbaijan. The Police have taken the matter under their control and are investigating the incident.

According to the Armenian Interior Ministry, the lifeguards on patrol reported the drowning of a man who was swimming in the lake around 8:17 p.m. Immediate action was taken to rescue the man from the lake, but paramedics pronounced him dead. The Police have launched the investigation, and they have sent all the recovered accessory materials for further examination. However, a detailed report on the death has yet to come, and as soon as there are official confirmations, the ministry will publish the reports.
