Not many days have passed since a four-year-old boy survived a near-death experience in a swimming pool in Fairhaven. However, another similar incident with even more catastrophic outcomes has surrounded the swimming world. A five-year-old boy’s life was cut short recently as he drowned in a swimming pool in Northern Kentucky. The online community is mourning the loss of this young soul and sending prayers for the family.

The downside of swimming

On Friday, a boy named Aldon Wade Eveland drowned in the above-ground swimming pool. He was spotted by the family in the pool located in the 1400 block of Clermont Court. According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office statement, the officials learned about the incident around 4:30 p.m. The boy was taken out of the pool and given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until Florence Fire/EMS paramedics arrived. Aldon was then taken to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.

According to the police, no criminal charges against anyone were registered as per the preliminary investigation in the case. As per certain reports, Kentucky has a higher incidence of drownings compared to the national average. In the United States, child drowning remains a primary cause of death among juveniles aged 1 to 4 years. Between 2018 and 2020, there was an annual average of 371 fatal drownings linked to pools or spas. Amidst all these concerns surrounding the drowning deaths, the internet sends its heartfelt prayers to the deceased soul and his family.
