Michael Phelps‘s son Boomer recently proved this quote true, “The imprint of a dad will forever remain on his son.” Inheriting the love of sports from his father, Boomer recently surprised his father with his prowess on the soccer field. Amazed at his son’s display of exceptional skills on the soccer field, the swimming legend shared a short clip showcasing his son’s huge potential on his Instagram handle.

This clip was reshared from Boomer’s Instagram account. Giving a brief glimpse of Boomer’s wonderful reflexes, the clip showed Boomer’s huge talent in soccer. So what did Boomer do which prompted Phelps to reshare the clip?

Running with lightning speed, Boomer kicked the soccer ball toward the goalpost, scoring the goal. Cheered by his teammates with shouts of “Come on Boom Boom!, Good job buddy!”  Boomer ran back, showing his tremendous energy on the field.

Responding to this celebration after Boomer scored the goal, Phelps reacted, “Way to go Booms! That celebration,” hinting how he was proud of his son’s abilities on the soccer field. But there is more.

Earlier, the Baltimore Bullet also praised Boomer’s exceptional skills in swimming. Hinting at how his son’s talent surprised him during an interview with Access, the Baltimore Bullet held nothing back.

Hinting that Boomer had got his swimming skills from him, Phelps implied how Boomer loved being in the pool. Interestingly, Boomer was just two years old when Phelps spoke to Access in this interview in 2018. Phelps narrated an interesting anecdote about Boomer.

The Baltimore Bullet recounted that he had gone to take his son Boomer for a swim in the pool. While  Boomer was swimming and doing the butterfly stroke, suddenly, he looked at his father and told him to swim. “So he gets it”, Phelps added, referring to Boomer’s swimming abilities.

It looks like Boomer has inherited his father’s athletic genes successfully. It is probably only a matter of time before we start watching the youngster earn his name in his own right.
