Legendary swimmer Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time. The Baltimore-born kid grew up to conquer the swimming world with his brilliance. Despite going through various low phases based on mental health in his career, he never let it affect his medal count.

Phelps has won 28 Olympics medals in his career that includes 23 gold medals. 2000 was the only year when he competed and couldn’t win a medal. He retired after competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics and is currently primarily working on the mental health concerns of the players. However, recently Phelps appeared trying his hand at bowling on his Instagram story. How did it go?

Michael Phelps nearly missed the perfect score

After retirement, Michael Phelps is in a much better state of mind compared to his competing days. He spends time with his wife and children, goes out with them, and has fun. Recently, he went to Los Angeles with Nicole to attend a function for Omega, the brand Phelps endorses.

And now Phelps was spotted bowling with his friends. In the Instagram video Phelps uploaded, he slid the bowl onto the bowling pins. Interestingly, Phelps is also a good bowler. He threw the bowl with full acceleration and bowled all the pins except one. One that stood still in the far corner.

And when the one pin didn’t fall. His friend who was shooting the video exclaimed“Almost… almost…”. Furthermore, they encouraged him to take it down in the next turn. He said, “Pick it up, pick up the mark.” Although Phelps couldn’t take down the single pin in the next turn as well.

Phelps’ endeavors after retirement

One of the most important things that Phelps needed was rest, considering the hard work of a lifetime. Other than spending time with family, he is doing his fair share for the athletes who are currently competing.

Phelps aims to create an environment where athletes or swimmers can talk to the therapist without hesitation. He wants to make an efficient bridge that actually helps the athletes to dump their mental stress and enjoy and compete with complete fitness.
