Following his legacy of awareness campaigns once again, the swimming legend has decided to walk on a road that would help him be “a better dad, husband, son, and friend.” In fact, the retired Olympics veteran Michael Phelps never shied from speaking about his mental issues. From talking about the mental health effects of rising expectations to win medals to the Covid-19 pandemic, his words have always encouraged people during tough times.

In a recent Instagram post, the Baltimore Bullet spoke about his collaboration with the billion-dollar biopharmaceutical company Pfizer. Sharing details about his noble intent, the father of three shared details.

Sharing a quick update, Phelps wrote, “I’ve been working on something that I can finally share with you. It wasn’t until recently that I learned my struggle with depression puts me at high risk for severe #COVID19.” For those unversed back in 2020, Phelps extensively spoke about his mental state during the pandemic. Referring to it as the “challenge I never expected,” the Flying Fish yet again spoke about the dark side of being cooped up in a house in an ESPN article

Thus, having lived through the dark times, making a conscious choice, Phelps, in his Instagram post, revealed that he has decided to partner with Pfizer, the American multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. Talking about his vision, the young dad writes how he wants “to encourage people to know what risk factors could put them at high risk for getting very sick from COVID-19.”

Copping up with the pandemic life was not easy for anyone. Naturally, it would not be surprising if a majority of people could connect with him when Phelps opened up about his struggles.

Pandemic was a word that people only read about in books. Thus, when the world of literature turned real, many found it hard to adapt to the new normal. As uncertainties turned the lives of many upside down, Phelps, much like others, had to deal with anxiety. For a person like Phelps, who was used to traveling, meeting people, and competing, the situation was “just craziness.”

Being on edge, the situation made him more defensive. However, helping him pull through the difficult phase was his family.
