The 400IM event is considered one of the hardest events in swimming. So expectedly, swimmers churn themselves out to get the race done. Those hard efforts are often reflected in their facial expressions which frequently give rise to some immortal snapshots captured by ace photographers. While social media snaps mostly focus on the jubilant snaps, those hard-fought moments during the race actually look quite different. Ledecky posted two such snaps of her in her latest post while swimming and captioned it, “400 IM* Instagram vs. ➡️ Reality”. This could have ended here. But the PostScript gave it a deep meaning in a funny coating.

Tagging Lilly King, Katie Ledecky further wrote, “The breaststroke portion of the 400 IM when getting run down by @_king_lil 😂” It instantly dug up the recent friendly tussle between Ledecky and King. Last year King made a bold statement about her caliber to compete in 400 IM. She added that she could throw down a good run at the 400 IM. After hearing King’s words, Katie Ledecky immediately reacted and told her to “put her money where her mouth was“. Therefore, both swimmers looked upon the opportunity to compete against each other.
Last weekend, Lilly King and Katie Ledecky competed against each other at the Knoxville Pro Swimming event. Interestingly, the breaststroke maestro Lilly King was ahead of Katie in the breaststroke leg and gave her staunch competition till the end. But Ledecky eventually surpassed her with her trademark freestyle stronghold. Undoubtedly, Ledecky brought that ‘weak run’ of her in her latest post with a hilarious twist. However, with all her cons Katie Ledecky seems to have no plans to slow down in the coming years.
