Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian ever. He has won 28 Olympic medals, of which 23 are gold. His rivals are not anywhere near him. There’s no competition for Phelps. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Phelps got serious about swimming after joining the North Baltimore Aquatic Club.

Back in 2012, in an interview, Michael Phelps discussed his plans after retirement. Phelps described how he isn’t just confined to one sport but is also trying to get into other sports. After retirement, he had a plan that no one would ever expect from the 23-time Olympic gold medalist.

Being the most decorated Olympian in the world, Michael Phelps had a lot of options post his retirement. When ESPN columnist Rick Reilly asked him about still swimming after retirement, Phelps’ answer shook everyone.
“Can you see yourself making a comeback in your 30s?” asked Rick. Phelps replied, “Me? At 30? Swimming? Oh, no. Oh, God, no! At 30, I’ll be playing golf every day.”
The most decorated Olympian had taken an interest in golf back then. He didn’t intend to spend the rest of his life heading down and staring at blue lines. Despite receiving so much from the sports he had made a career in, he wanted to unwind with another sport.

He was prepared to avoid swimming once he retired from the sport. Golf was the next destination for Phelps.
The legend wasn’t just an amateur golfer. Despite being a part-timer, he was good at it.
Swimming legend turned golfer?
After making the hallowed blue water, his best friend, it is the green grass that he indeed switched his attention towards. The legend is also renowned for his wonderful skills on the golf course.
He hit a 159ft putt during the 2012 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Phelps, who retired in 2016, was visible several times around the golf legend, Tiger Woods. He was there with him during the Master’s Tournament. Although Phelps never competed professionally in golf, he just enjoys it casually.
