The GOAT of swimming is also quite famous among his followers for his active social media presence, tweeting and sharing often. So, no wonder when Phelps swam in his last Olympics in 2016, his fans decided to flood Twitter with some hilarious reactions.
When Michael Phelps fans took over Twitter
In August 2016, while the Rio Olympics was in full swing, the Twitterati went wild. Because it wasn’t only the grand Olympics, it was Michael’s last Olympics before he officially hung up his gear. In the tribute to Michael’s legendary reign over the pool, people shared their views about him. The tweets ranged from commemoratory to hilarious and even lightly sarcastic opinions. Safe to say, the social world loved them, giving an acceptable reaction to most of them.
But, these were not all. Some tweets took a jab at some of the mistakes that the legendary swimmer made in the past. Like, one tweet read, “The lesson I choose to take away from Michael Phelps is that if you smoke w**d you will win 20 gold medals.” But some were also quite wholesome. Like one that read, “Michael Phelps not staying at the Olympic village, he’s living with his people beneath the sea.”
Fans of Phelps go berserk with their tweets
Fans shared their best thoughts over Phelps, although it is hard to say whether Phelps himself ever saw these silly tweets or not, those who did, enjoyed themselves.
