Being an athlete, he is aware of the benefits of starting the day after a workout.

Fair to say, embracing fatherhood and coaching, the 28-time Olympic medallist began making the best use of his time, also rediscovering himself after retirement. Also, to keep his fitness in check and be motivated, he resorted to exploring exercise routines he had never tried before. The swimming legend once took on a biking challenge and made some mind-boggling numbers.

Michael Phelps went on a biking spree

Phelps once followed a rigorous routine of swimming 80,000 meters every week, consuming 8000-10,000 calories every day, and stretching for not less than two hours before each event during his career. With the same spirit, in his new workout plan, he experimented a 30-day biking routine.

 

?It?s all I do. I pound it.??He?said?in an interview in 2017 about biking on Peloton and how he burnt off nearly 30,000 calories. Phelps covered 500 miles while spending 1,100 minutes on the indoor exercise bike. He explained he hit upon an idea to try something and wait to see how it unfolds, stating, ?I’m just going to grind for a month.? He also expressed his interest in competitions on the bike.

?I ride a Peloton, so I ride in classes. I have an alias. No one knows it’s me,” he stated, convinced about being anonymous. Proud of his feats, he shared that he finished in the top 5 to 10 percent every time.

What about a triathlon?

The Baltimore Bullet?s discipline is loud and clear. He drills nearly every day of the week. Phelps seemed closer to trying his leg in the triathlon ? swimming, cycling, and running. “If I could do a triathlon and not do the run, I would instantly do it,”?he said. Obviously, he said he found swimming easy and swam twice a month only to enjoy the water and sunshine.

However, he was skeptical about cycling.??I would get my [butt] kicked on the bike.”?He explained that some guys were “ridiculous” and that’s a challenge to him. Though Phelps considered riding on the road, he said that he wouldn?t get the experience, in terms of resistance he got on his stationary bike.??I love what I do,? he said about his brief workout of 45-60 minutes that includes stretching, biking, and some exercises for abs outside. ?I?m good,??he added.
