Nic Fink has made history once again. After qualifying for Tokyo in 2020, the US swimmer has done it once again. Competing in the US Olympic trials at the Lucas Oil Stadium, Fink has secured the top two spots in the 100m breaststroke. His qualification for the Paris Olympics could not have come at a better moment, as it was Father’s Day. And guess what? Nic Fink is soon going to be a father himself! Fink looked in sublime form as he clocked 59.08s to edge out Charlie Swanson for the first place. 

And while he was ruling the waters, watching from the stands was a proud and emotional wife. Fink’s wife, who is expecting a baby, was seen crying out of joy as Fink edged closer to victory. Shortly after the news of Fink’s qualifying for Paris went out, fans poured in their best wishes for the US swimmer. One fan indicated Fink’s slower finish in the last 50 meters of the 100m breaststroke. The user suggested a potential vulnerability in longer events like the 200m breaststroke, highlighting it as a more competitive opportunity for other swimmers. The comment read, “Nic Fink was the 7th-slowest coming home in that 100 breast, 59.24. That makes the 200 breast WIDE open.”

Another fan referred to Nic Fink’s celebratory gesture for qualifying for the Olympics. The fan expressed their enthusiasm regarding the fact that his gesture of cradling his soon-to-be-born baby also happened on father’s day. Fink celebrating his victory and impending fatherhood has turned out to be a heartfelt moment for fans.
