The legendary football player, Tom Brady, has announced his retirement on social media, and this time for good. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Brady made a similar announcement in February last year. However, that did not last even two months, as he later changed his mind. Though, it seems to be final this time.
Stars and athletes from all industries have come forward to say goodbye to one of the most popular football players out there. Many comments and reactions followed when he posted a heartfelt post on Instagram.
Michael Phelps compliments Tom Brady on his retirement

When Brady made the announcement to retire from his 23-year-long NFL career, the star quarterback created a stir on social media. Many big names commented on his Instagram post, and one of them was the Olympic legend, Michael Phelps himself. Phelps reacted to the post with an emoji. Phelps’ reaction was simple, in fact, it was just one word. G.O.A.T. With seven Super Bowl victories under his wing, and being a serial record-breaker, calling Tom Brady the greatest of all time is only natural.

Phelps is not the only renowned athlete to react to Brady’s post. American alpine ski racer, Lindsey Vonn, also came forward and wrote, “Congrats on an incredible career, my friend 🐐” The famous surfer Gabby Reece also commented, “No one could have done more!! Next adventure. Congratulations.” The casual surfer and comic, Andrew Schulz, also wrote, “The greatest to ever do it”
Out of all the famous personalities who commented and congratulated Brady, Phelps said the least, but in that one emoticon, he expressed the most. This is not the first time that Phelps has indulged in reacting to Brady’s posts.
Did Phelps Know Something We Didn’t?
Phelps had earlier commented on an Instagram post by Brady, a post which gave an indication that Brady might be thinking about retirement. Phelps wrote, “It’s fun watching you do what you do!” Not only this, but Phelps has been a constant supporter of Tom Brady. Michael Phelps had also said in an interview that he was rooting for Brady when Brady was about to win his fifth Super Bowl.

The multiple comments and the constant support that Phelps has showered on Brady have led fans to believe that Phelps might have been privy to the decision before Tom Brady made it public.
