The 45-year-old NFL legend retired from football after entertaining the fans for over twenty years. Tom Brady announced his retirement through Instagram for his fans on February 1st, 2023. Retirement life is extremely difficult to adapt to as mentioned by many athletes who have retired previously. However, Brady has got his people with some retirement wisdom for him to make his transition smoother with their experience. In an exclusive interview with People, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal and swimming GOAT Michael Phelps offered some advice to Tom Brady to keep in mind as he begins his retirement life.

NBA legend Shaq gave his advice to the superstar quarterback while speaking with PEOPLE during a fun party at his home. He said, “All you gotta do is just, you know, be yourself. Tom’s beautiful, he’s great. He knows what to do.” Whereas Shaq had a bit of brief and light advice from his end, swimming legend Michael Phelps gave some deep insights into Brady to the retirement life.

Firstly, Phelps indicated that no doubt it is going to be ‘challenging’. Further, he added, “I mean, the biggest thing is finding your own peace and your own happiness. It’s something that’s been a part of your life for two decades, and especially at a high level like he’s played. I’m sure he has a love for the game. It’s obvious, right? I’m sure it was very challenging, just by watching his message of how hard it was to walk away.”

Moreover, understanding Brady’s current condition, Phelps continued, “But there’s always that time where it’s needed, and he must have felt that. So for me, I just say, ‘Make sure you’re listening to your heart. Find your routine.’ That’s something that was so important to me and helped me… I think that’s something that athletes have to [find]. We have to have some kind of structure and routine.”

As he announced his retirement on social media, he got emotional and thanked everyone who stood along his entire career.
