“Michael Phelps Is in My Store”: Fans Weigh In on Swimming Legends Resemblance to $160 Million Dollar Worth NFL Icon

Michael Phelps is one of the most renowned swimmers in the world. The legend who demonstrated his talent with the ultimate swimming technique has won 28 Olympic medals.

However, once another athlete who belongs to the NFL was confused as Phelps. The athlete was non-other than Eli Manning. As he described the hilarious event on the Tonight Show, Eli’s and Michael’s fans reacted with funny comments on Instagram.

During the show “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Eli recalled when a store owner mistook him for the swimming legend. He stated, “I go into a store, and you know I get to the counter, and the guy looks at me and goes, are you who I think you are?”

Further, Manning said, “I’m like, yeah, I think so. He goes oh my gosh, Michael Phelps is in my store!!!. He yells, Everybody comes out; it’s Michael Phelps. I’m like, whoa, no, no, no. No, no, no, I’m not. I’m not Michael Phelps. He’s like, so you lied to me? I’m like, no. I just thought who you thought I was, not who I am.” The story was so funny that even his fans suggested he do comedy shows more often.

In addition, one fan wrote, “Should of just said Nah, I’m just Eli Manning.” While others call him something else, “Chad Powers with the Stache!!!” One Instagram user said, “Phelps looks super weird nowadays; look him up.” Another sarcastically pointed, “You know I can see how he got confused.”

On the other hand, one called out Tom Brady’s father and said, “Who doesn’t recognize Tom Brady’s father.” Another stated, “Protect the manning brother at all costs.” While some fans said, “They do have a resemblance.” Following this, another penned, “Hahaha, as soon as he started the joke, I knew he must have been confused with Michael Phelps.” However, this wasn’t the first time when the comments of Michael and Eli had the same resemblance popped up.
