To tackle the heat, members of the wildlife community have started to cool down in the waters. Recently, a bear was found chilling in the swimming pool of a Hingham home in Massachusetts. A pair of siblings who were watching television in their home found the bear swimming in their backyard pool. Later, the Hingham Animal Control Centre vacated the bear from the pool and left him safely to his sanctuary.

Along similar lines, only a few days after this event, another member of the Texas wildlife was seen enjoying a dip in the water. An armadillo was found near the Texas shore, plunging into the water after suffering the wrath of heat waves in Texas. The video of the four-legged mammal swimming has gone viral on social media.

Armadillo spotted swimming in the Texas water

Amid the scorching heat, wildlife has started to join the rural areas. Recently, an Armadillo was seen taking a dip in the waters of Texas. According to the Star-Telegram, the mammal was spotted swimming near the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. A video of the mammal trying to cool off has gone viral on Facebook. The video was taken by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and posted on Facebook on August 8th with the caption, “Even armadillos are trying to cool off.” Further, the caption also revealed that the Armadillos can hold their breath for up to six minutes in the water.

In the video, the wild animal was seen paddling through the waters and enjoying the coolness of its heat-prickled skin. The mammal also explored the marine life of the waters as he took a deep dive into the water. The locals were shocked to see an animal known for its stupidity doing such maneuvers in the water. Further, one local who has lived in Texas his whole life and has “never seen an alive one before.” Nonetheless, apart?from blessing the feeds of people on social media, this video also highlights the scorching heat in Texas right now. The Lone Star State has witnessed triple-digit highs for more than a month.

Texas facing triple-digit high

With being home to one of the four deserts in North America, Texas has always faced extremely high heat in the summer. However, this year, the state known for its cowboy culture has faced triple-digit temperatures in most of the states for over a month. The extreme heat and humidity have pushed the temperature to 120 degrees. According to the weather service, such extreme heat and humidity can increase heat-related issues among the public, “particularly for those working in outdoor activities.”

In such conditions, the armadillo clearly entered the dangerous areas to get some relief from the extreme heat. Hopefully, after enjoying the sip, the animal reached back to its land safely. Nonetheless, these wild animals coming to the shore can sometimes also cause harm to the locals. Hopefully, the authorities will provide safety measures to avoid any harmful incidents.
