As Michigan State gears up to face its biggest rival Ohio, things have gotten more intense. Football teams from both states are set to go head-to-head in NCAA football. While everyone awaits the match, a certain athlete has already picked his side. Swimming legend Michael Phelps recently supported the Michigan Wolverines with a huge gesture.

Since both teams have a history of rivalry, a broadcast group released a documentary on them. However, Phelps had the honor of narrating one of the trailers. This trailer showed the perspective of the Michigan Wolverines against their rivals. As a result, the video is quite uplifting and motivating.
Michael Phelps goes blue!
The trailer filmed different aspects of training amongst the Michigan state team. This included intense training sessions in the gym and on-field. While the trailer showed the players’ aggressive passion, Phelps’ narration added fuel to it. He called for the team to think about the one chance they now have against their rivals. The voices of the swimmer and the coaches went back and forth, as all came together to uplift the team.

Phelps exclaimed, “for everything you’ve worked towards, this is where you want to be”. As the montage kept shifting from match scenes to training sessions, the swimmer’s encouraging tone fuels a passion among fans. The Olympic swimmer later shared the trailer on his Instagram story, with the caption “Let go blue!!!!”.
Sinclair Broadcast Group and Tennis Channel Studios created Rivals, a documentary honoring the rivalry between Michigan and Ohio states. It explores all the football matches between the states, along with inputs from players and coaches. While actor J. K. Simmons narrated the two-hour documentary, Phelps took over the trailer for the Michigan team.

Phelps’ message to the Michigan team
Although the trailer instilled a lot of emotion, the swimmer’s role didn’t end there. He personally spoke to the team in order to motivate them for the match. He advised them to take care of themselves and keep certain vitals in check. Hydration and ample rest were important for an athlete to perform better.

Phelps not only encouraged them for the match, but he also reminded them that self-care was important. The team was grateful for an Olympic champion like him to look out for them.
