“My Heart Is Heavy”: Michael Phelps’ Wife Reacted After Being in Attendance at the Place Where Tragic Mass Shooting Incident Happened in 2017

Michael Phelps and his wife left Las Vegas before the mass shooting 

Michael Phelps and Nicole Phelps visited Las Vegas in 2017. They went to enjoy the Vegas Music Festival. However, they had no clue what was about to happen on Sunday night. The mass shooting happened on a Sunday 1st October night when a gunman opened fire at the crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. 

Thankfully, Michael and Nicole had left Las Vegas before that horrible incident occurred and were safe at their house. On the other hand, it broke the heart of thousands of people as 58 people were killed and at least 500 were injured in that mass shooting.

Nicole Phelps wrote a message on Monday morning, “I woke to texts from friends asking if we were still in Vegas, thankfully we were home safe however my heart is heavy this morning after learning of the tragic incident that happened last night. … #prayforlasvegas”.

Being a champion comes with lots of pressure. But to remain one for more than a decade takes even more. Michael Phelps confessed several times about mental health issues a sportsman goes through. He has himself been under tremendous stressful situations many times.

Michael Phelps has given many tips about how to tackle mental health issues. One of the most effective ways he found was to open up. He advises people to open up about the problems they are facing to their close ones.
