Months After Sharing Riveting Details About Pregnancy, Ryan Lochte’s Family Welcomes Third Baby

The legendary swimmer Ryan Lochte is one of the sport’s most successful Olympians. With 12 Olympic medals in total, he is the second most decorated after Michael Phelps when it comes to swimming. Over the years, Lochte has been in the news for his extraordinary prowess in the water. However, recently, he has been making headlines for a whole other reason.

In addition to being a genius athlete, Lochte is a successful family man as well. Ryan Lochte already has two beautiful kids with his gorgeous wife, and in December 2022, the couple announced they were expecting to welcome a third child into their family fold. And now, that special person has entered their lives.

The Lochte clan welcomes their newest member

The 38-year-old Olympic swimmer and his 31-year-old wife, Kayla Rae Reid, welcomed their tiny baby girl on June 21 this year. Before the birth took place, in an exclusive interview, the former model and new mother, Kayla Rae Reid, told Us Weekly, “[We’re] thrilled. We are so excited. Ryan is such a great dad; I can’t wait to see him as a father to 3.” 

Lochte’s wife further added, “He’s so great with kids in general, they always gravitate towards him.” They say opposites attract, and that seems to be true for Ryan Lochte and his wife as well. Kayla Rae Reid confirmed this by revealing in the interview, “I am excited as well, [but] I am more of the worrier, the strict one, the not-as-fun parent, let’s just say. It makes for a good balance.” The couple named the newest member of their family Georgia June Lochte, a name both of them “easily” agreed upon, according to Us Weekly.

The proud new mom explained the source of the name, saying that the baby’s first name came from her family member while the middle name was the month in which she was born. Surprisingly, all of Ryan Lochte’s kids came forth into this world in the month of June. Kayla also revealed the design of her baby’s nursery, which is pink and green in color with a “southern eclectic feel”. The couple announced Kayla’s pregnancy with Georgia in December and also gave a special mention to the newborn on Christmas last year.

Lochte and Reid first started dating in 2016 and welcomed their son Caiden the same year. In 2018, the couple tied the knot with each other, having a Florida Courthouse wedding and a separate ceremony in Palm Springs, during which their 2-year-old son Caiden was their ring bearer. When his daughter Liv was born in 2019, Lochte couldn’t help but count his lucky stars. A year later, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Lochte revealed his wish to have another child.

However, he left the final decision to his wife. He said, “It’s not really up to me… It’s up to the boss lady,” Lochte joked, “And if she wants more, we’re gonna have more.” It seems like the couple finally made up their mind to have another kid. While Ryan Lochte was not around as much before because of his training, Kayla revealed how this pregnancy has been a revelation due to his constant presence. The Lochte family is already smitten with the young one, watching her bond with her elder siblings.
