On Saturday, Michael Phelps attended Game Five of the Championship Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies. He was also given the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch in the game that was hosted by Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. Phelps also captivated his fans with his iconic swimming stretch before the fun showcase of his baseball skills. The video fun moment was shared by MLB Life on their Instagram handle with the caption “Someone needs to get him in the D-backs pool.” This iconic and fun swimming stretch is becoming a viral sensation on the internet.

Donning the Diamondbacks jersey, the 28-time Olympic medalist threw a 19-mph fastball. The Philadelphia Phillies let the Diamondbacks cover a 2-0 lead when the Arizona-based team won two back-to-back games. However, they made a staunch comeback in this contest, securing a 6-1 victory and taking a 3-2 series lead. Now the NLCS will return to Philadelphia for Game 6. Apart from Michael Phelps, the game was also attended by NBA legends like Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, etc. Phelps, a known MLB fan, has been spotted at the pitcher’s mound on previous occasions as well.

The American swimming prodigy has previously thrown the ceremonial first pitch, and one such occasion came during the Diamondbacks’ 2017 playoff series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
