Recently, a former swimming champ took to Twitter to celebrate Michael’s presence in sports alongside legends like Serena Williams and Tiger Woods. But one fan posted a bizarre comment that was quickly shot down by the swimmer.

Former swimmer shows his support to Michael Phelps

Kyle Sockwell is a former Arizona State University swim team member. He tweets about regular updates from the swimming world and often shares some valuable information too. He recently tweeted a post celebrating the sporting era, which saw some legends compete at the same time. The list included the likes of Michael Phelps, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, and Tom Brady, amongst others.

Kyle captioned his post, “At one point, Michael Phelps, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, LeBron James, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Tom Brady, and more were all competing at the same time… What an incredible era in sports, the GOAT era.” A collage of some of these legends was also attached to the tweet. But one fan posted a bizarre comment on the post that had heads turning. They wrote, “Michael Phelps is a CHEAT, though.”

Kyle noticed this and dismissed a major allegation with a simple reply. He wrote, “Well, that just isn’t true at all.” Admittedly, whenever Phelps took center stage, he looked unbeatable. But his coach, Bob Bowman, once revealed the reason behind it.

During an interview, coach Bob revealed why Michael was close to undefeatable. He said“If Michael was on fire, nobody could beat him.” Bowman explained that Michael was a man of consistency. While preparing for the Olympics, Michael did not take a single day off for five years. Phelps would go to practice even on birthdays. Michael did not want to lose, but he also wanted to do something no one had done before.
