The Day 3 of the 2023 US Swimming Championship commenced on a great note. While many swimmers took the reins over their counterparts, others surpassed the existing meet records. However, for Michael Andrew and Nic Fink, it was rather an uphill battle to clinch the number one spot, but they both bagged the podium finish.
Andrew and Fink got off the podium clinching silver and bronze respectively as Kyrgyzstani competitive swimmer, Denis Petrashov, took home the gold in the 100m breaststroke discipline.

On day 3 of the US Open meet, Denis Petrashov cruised his way on the turquoise turf to grab the 100m breaststroke gold by clocking a time of 59.46, leaving Andrew and Fink in second and third position respectively.

SwimSwam took to their X account to share the scores of the event. After Petrashov clinched gold, Andrew grabbed silver at the podium with a score of 59.52, and Fink on the other hand stood third at the podium with a timeframe of 59.79.
Andrew made a record in the 2021 US Open meet and has an American record in the 100m breaststroke by clocking a time of 58.14. However, Andrew had to settle with silver at the 2023 meet. After unofficially defeating Caeleb Dressel to clinch gold at the US Open Swimming Championship, this defeat was a big upset for the American swimmer.

On day 2 of the US Open meet, Andrew stunned the spectators present in the event by delivering a terrific performance in the 50m Freestyle. Jumping from lane 8, he cruised to touch the wall and grab the title for the 50m Freestyle in style. Leaving behind the swimmers, he stood tall by clocking a time of 21.80.

In the second position, with a timeframe of 21.9 was Josh Liendo. Along with him in the same timeframe stood Mikel Schreuders and Santo Condorelli. However, this event was supposed to inculcate all the timings from other finals, which also included the former world champion in the event, Caeleb Dressel. In his absence, the final was termed unofficial. It was quite a performance by Andrew and his admirers were on their toes to witness what the prodigy delivers next.
