The Olympian Michael Phelps is one of the few athletes worldwide whose fame extends beyond swimming. Phelps’ exploits are simply unmatched, and his records probably won’t be broken for a very long time. In addition, the swimming legend is an example for many other athletes around the globe.

Swimming, for instance, may be omitted, but Michael’s name will never be overlooked. Once, the 23-time Olympic gold medalist described the things which make him feel like a superhero. 

Michael Phelps quoted himself as a ‘superhero’

During an interview with US magazine, Phelps was questioned“What makes him feel like a superhero?” Michael replied, “It’s the whole package: the Speedo, the goggles, the cap. It makes me feel like a superhero.”

Phelps, being the Olympics superhero, achieved the goal for which he came to the Beijing Olympics. The legend became the first sportsperson to win eight gold medals in a single Olympiad. He possessed an unmatched power and may be extraterrestrial. 

When Michael Phelps won six gold medals in the 2004 Athens Olympics, the media focused on the fact that he fell short of Mark Spitz’s seven Olympic golds. Phelps used it as the ideal motivation, and at the following Olympics in Beijing, when he won eight gold medals in a single competition, he made Olympic history.

Tenoch Huerta recalled when his trainers informed him that he would play a character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever during an interview.

Huerta stated, “I’m not Michael Phelps. That guy is a real superhero — he’s an actual mutant. But we did a lot of free diving since we shoot underwater, and I learned to hold my breath for up to five minutes. Now when I’m down there, holding my breath in the middle of the water, it is so peaceful. It’s like meditation.”

Michael is more rugged than a locomotive and faster than a racing pellet. His nickname, The Baltimore Bullet, preciously describes his talent in many ways. In addition, he has cemented his legacy in the history of swimming which is impossible to forget.
