The Pokemon trading card phenomenon is huge and some rare cards are traded for millions of dollars. In fact, Logan Paul even converted his rare world-record Pikachu card into a digital asset and even wore the card to one of his WrestleMania fights. Now, it seems that the swimming sensation Caeleb Dressel is also hopping on the bandwagon with his latest Instagram story. Dressel posted a picture with three Pokemon cards placed beside each other. He also accompanied his picture with the caption, “Someone Stop Me”.

Dressel’s cards included Erika’s Invitation, Venusaur, and Alakazam. The accurate value of these cards is not yet known, but they speak volumes about the swimmer’s trading card hobby and Pokemon. In fact, last year, in a podcast with Graham Bensinger, Dressel stated, “Pokemon’s never gone away. I’m playing the new one right now and it’s fantastic,” as he referred to the Pokemon video game.

The 7x Olympic gold medalist also made headlines a few months ago after he failed to qualify for this year’s World Championships in Japan due to mental health issues.

He still hasn’t revealed much but in a report by The New York Times, Dressel said, “There were a lot of things I shoved down and all came boiling up, so I didn’t really have a choice.” Dressel is slowly getting back to form and preparing for an emphatic return at the 2024 Paris Olympics and as for his Pokemon craze, it seems that the swimmer will look up to his trading cards in order to relax and unwind himself.
