Kaylee McKeown's net worth is skyrocketing—Is she the most marketable swimmer today?

Kaylee McKeown’s prowess in the swimming pool is nothing less than an exquisite story. The 23-year-old Australian swimmer has four medals from just one Olympic Games, and three are gold. If that adds a finer touch to her story, then a part of the rest could be filled up by her recent flares. In the Australian Olympic swimming trials this year, Kaylee McKeown came close to breaking three swimming world records.

Such brilliance can turn into prizes and accolades, and she has experienced them all. Coming from the world champion bunch, Kaylee has a top-notch prize list, which adds to the numbers in her purse. So, as the former world champion goes to her Paris Olympics hunt, let’s get a scoop on her earnings.

As per Taddlr, Kaylee McKeown’s net worth is $1 million. A large chunk of it has come from her stint in the 2023 World Aquatics Championships. There, in Budapest, Kaylee claimed the WA Swimming titles after winning all the backstroke events in the women’s category. She became the only female swimmer to achieve such an achievement. To everyone’s surprise, in the 50 m and 100 m backstroke events, the Queenslander broke two records (in the 50-meter she earned the Oceanian one, whereas in the 100-meter she broke the championship record). Such an achievement did not go out of the window, as Kaylee McKeown gained $186,000 as the total prize money from the contest. That included the prize money received from the Swimming World Cup. But that’s not the end of her list of achievements.

The Australian swimmers’ phenomenal success in the 2023 World Swimming Championships and the World Cup attracted a financial boost from one patron. The mining magnate Gina Rinehart’s Patron’s Medal Achievement Incentive Fund promised to award $20,000 for each gold medal winner from Budapest. In that way, Kaylee McKeown may have received $1,20,000 for her six golds from the Swimming Championships and Swimming World Cup.

Additionally, the incentive may have received a further boost, as, for the world records, the prize money was set at $30,000. Kaylee McKeown set two world records in both the 50-meter and 100-meter backstroke events. This year in the World Aquatics Championships, Kaylee McKeown didn’t appear. But her brand engagements saved the day for her.

Last year, Kaylee McKeown rejoiced in signing with Wahl, a leading Australian brand in grooming. She was made the brand ambassador when the company opted to launch shavers and beauty trimmers, customized for women. Being the ambassador for such a product left her saying, “I can’t wait to see Australian women embracing these wonderful new products to achieve that perfect look. Being streamline in the pool is absolutely essential for me so they’re an important part of my training routine as I begin my quest to win gold in Paris.” Apart from Wahl Australia, another brand inked an agreement with the Commonwealth Games champion.

Speedo has always remained a top choice among swimmers for swimming costumes and gear. Kaylee McKeown is not the exception. The brand has featured her as a part of #TeamSpeedo. Apart from these brands, Kaylee has also been found promoting Vogue Australia, Hermes, Omega, Louis Vuitton PasPaley, and Sacai. Rokeby, the brand famous for making nutritional products, has also featured her in their advertisement. Therefore, the swimmer’s earnings can be expected to go up, adding laurels from those brand deals. It might ignite her to achieve more success in the swimming pools.
