Everybody knows the swimming legend Katie Ledecky. But did you know Katie is a dynamo on the dance floor, too? That’s right, at Elizabeth Beisel’s recent wedding, the 14-time Olympic medalist stole the show! It was a night of laughter, love, and a whole lot of fun on the dance floor for not just Katie but also her fellow Olympians.

Beisel tied the knot with Jack Nichting at Bonnet Shores Beach in Rhode Island, and the venue was buzzing with swimming stars. The beach side lit up with stars, including Caeleb Dressel, Missy Franklin, Katie Hoff, and Allison Schmitt. The vibes were immaculate, and Katie, the dancing sensation, came to life, leaving Dressel and Franklin shocked.

Recently chatting with Missy Franklin and Katie Hoff, Katie Ledecky went on to talk about the celebrations. “It was so much fun last week at the wedding with you (Hoff)…” This catch-up with Missy is a quieter one for Katie. “More, I guess, a quieter catch-up without the music on the dance floor and all that,” she added. But when the music cranked up, it was a different story!

Hoff couldn’t help but playfully tease Katie! “Yeah, I was gonna bring that up. So, in your list of long accomplishments, where does breaking the dance floor come in?” asked Franklin. Ledecky laughed and went on to say, “Oh, it’s up there. I mean, I had so much fun. You’re actually, I think, the one that got me on the dance floor.”  Talk about switching it up!

As the night unraveled, so did Katie Ledecky. “The moment that Beisel saw me on the dance floor, she brought me in,” she recalled. “I think I danced the rest of the night! Wow, I felt bad. I didn’t get out there earlier.” Even Dressel had to do a double-take, saying, “Whoa, Katie’s on the dance floor!” It is safe to say that Katie Ledecky, apart from being a swimming legend, knows one other thing well. To have fun!

After the fun and frolic, what’s next for Katie Ledecky?

With the wedding celebrations behind her, what’s next for Katie Ledecky? Well, she’s already charting her course, and consistency is the name of the game. In a recent chat with fellow Olympian Missy Franklin, when asked to describe herself in one word, Katie gave a telling glimpse into her mindset. “Consistent,” she replied. “That’s been one of my overarching goals—just to stay consistent year after year.” And she’s not just talking about her performance in the pool.

Fresh off her double gold wins at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Katie has been nothing short of unstoppable. Those victories not only added to her legendary status but brought her Olympic medal count to a jaw-dropping 14. Yet, she’s not resting on her laurels. Katie’s goal of consistency extends beyond her athletic prowess; it’s a philosophy she’s applying to life itself. “Consistent in terms of balance and emotionally—trying not to get too high or too low in any moment,” she said. “Moving forward, that’s something I’d like to maintain.”

But Katie isn’t naive. She understands that life, much like competitive swimming, has its ups and downs. “I know there are going to be highs and lows, in the pool and out of the pool, and I think it’s important to think of that word—steady—and try to remain as steady as possible,” she added. And steady she will be because even with 14 Olympic medals under her belt, Katie Ledecky is far from done.

Next on her radar? The Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. At 31, she plans to compete in a sport where youth often reigns, but Katie is ready to defy expectations yet again. “I do want to pave my own way, and I’m focused on my own goals,” she emphasized. While many may have expected her to follow in the footsteps of her idol, Michael Phelps, Katie is carving out her own unique path. Whether she’s dominating the dance floor or the pool, Katie Ledecky continues to thrive, drive, and inspire.
