During the interview, when he was asked “Are there ever mornings where it’s like ‘Damn it, I don’t want to do this??” Lochte replied, ?Every morning.? The swimmer always had been in a love-and-hate relationship with the sport. ?The pressure only comes to me when people start talking about swimming. You can win the gold medal at the Olympics like that kind of stuff because then it?s putting pressure on me being like I have to get it done. I have to do this for everyone,? Lochte said. He talked about how people pressurize him every time he goes on the big stage. Lochte just doesn’t like the expectations that have always been placed on him.

?You know in life you get knocked down but it?s how you get up and how you keep moving forward that?s gonna basically define you as a person and I?ve been knocked out millions of times and I kept fighting. Every time I?ve gotten knocked down it was my own doing and it?s up to me to get out of it,? Lochte added. He has been with himself in his worst and best times, so he knows himself pretty well.

Being the second-best swimmer in the world has not been an easy journey for Ryan Lochte. He has been struggling with a lot of mental health problems because of his actions during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The USA Swimming and Olympic Committee suspended Lochte because he was lying about being robbed at gunpoint. This incident took place in Rio de Janeiro during the 2016 Summer Olympics. Later on, Lochte accepted his mistake, but the scar remains in his career to date.
