SwimSwam Live tweeted the result of the men’s freestyle 100m race at the TYR Pro Swim Series. The tweet carried the caption, “2024 Pro Swim Series Knoxville: Day 2 Finals M100 Free: (1) Jack Alexy – 48.24. (2) Brooks Curry – 48.68. (3) Matt King – 48.91.” Alexy sped through the water to beat Curry with a margin of 0.24 seconds.

Brooks Curry was part of the reigning Olympic gold medal-winning US team of the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay. Curry also contributed to America’s 2022 World Championship gold in the 4x100m freestyle. Interestingly, Curry is a dedicated freestyle expert compared to Jack Alexy, who specializes in freestyle as well as backstroke.

48.24 seconds marked the best in-season career finish for Jack Alexy. The 20-year-old had freshly won a gold medal along with three silvers and a bronze at the 2023 Fukuoka World Championships. While he may still seem to be in his greenhorn days, this is the second time Alexy has proven his mettle. In fact, he has already taken a shot at the glory of American legend Caeleb Dressel.
