“It’s a Concern”: Michael Phelps’ Wife Once Opened Up on Scare of First Born Who Has Half a Million Followers Becoming a Victim of Online Curse

Standing at the podium was a cute little sunshine who became an overnight sensation. The three-month-old stole the attention and became a people’s favorite, and the little bundle of joy was none other than-Boomer Phelps, Michael and Nicole’s eldest son.

Before the Olympic year, Phelps and Nicole announced their engagement, while the couple planned their wedding after the tournament and later start a family! Destiny had planned a surprise. Born just a couple of months before the Olympics, Boomer came as a blessing to the young couple! However, being the son of famous parents was not easy for the three-month-old.

After Rio, when Nicole sat down for an interview with Cosmopolitan.com, she could not help but agree with a grave concern!

Talking about her son’s Instagram profile, she said, “The day he was born, we got his name [on social media].” His parents jointly took the decision to get Boomer on Instagram. As Nicole, herself quotes, “we wanted to make sure we had that handle.”

When Boomer’s Instagram was made public, he gathered a lot of followers quickly. Something that she did not expect. Confessing her feelings, she said, “I don’t think Michael or I expected it to blow up the way that it did.” The young star kid now enjoys a massive following of 532K on Instagram.

As the interviewer quotes, social media can be a “curse and a blessing.” When Nicole was asked about her views on the same, she agreed on the repercussions. With all the online bullying and body-shaming, Mrs. Phelps said, “I definitely agree, and it’s a concern.”

There is no denying that online bullying can have a severe impact on mental well-being. Furthermore, the young boy is too small to understand. Having struggled with issues concerning mental health and bullies, Phelps knows why it is essential to speak up.

Thus, he makes it a point to help them “talk about their emotions.” Teaching them the importance of mental health from a young age, Phelps wants his sons to “be as prepared as they can be.” For the unversed, Nicole and Phelps have three sons together, Boomer, Beckett, and Maverick. And his two eldest sons, Boomer and Beckett have started their Kindergarten and Pre-k recently.
