Renowned Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte is not only one of the most decorated Olympians but is also a TV personality. The 12-time Olympic medalist is all set to make his return to reality TV. According to recent news, Lochte has partnered up with Peacock to star in their upcoming show “The Traitor” which is being classified as a psychological competition series.

The series will have 22 contestants and will be based in a surreal castle in the midst of the Scottish highlands. It is set to premiere on January 12, 2023.

Ryan Lochte returns to television this January

Ryan Lochte has been the face of reality TV in the past. Previously, he used to appear as himself on the show ‘What Would Ryan Lochte Do?’ which was based on the athlete’s romantic endeavors and followed his dating life.

Although, this time around, the swimmer will find himself in a more sinister setting. ‘The Traitor,’ set to be hosted by Emmy-nominated actor Alan Cumming, will feature celebrity personalities who will be pitched against each other for prize money worth $250,000. The objective of the games will focus on three contestants termed the ‘The Traitors’ who would be required to steal money from fellow contestants (the faithful).

The 10-episode-long series is based on the very famous Dutch gameshow of the same name and will be aired on the streaming service in mid-January 2023.

The Traitors have a star cast worth noting

Produced by Studio Lambert, Scotland, the show is set to star celebrities with diverse backgrounds. The idea is to study their psychological nuances within the volatile group dynamics, secluded from society in a remote castle.

Joining Ryan Lochte, includes Bachelor Nation star Arie Luyendyk Jr, Survivor stars Cirie Fields and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, Below Deck alum Kate Chastain, ex-Big Brother artists Cody Calafiore and Rachel Reilly, Brandi Glanville from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and finally Reza Farahan of Shahs of Sunset fame. The star-studded cast of the show will be joined by 10 other contestants such as Christian De La Torre, Michael Davidson, Andie Thurmond, Quentin Jiles, Shelbe Rodriguez, Geraldine Moreno, Robert “Bam” Nieves, Anjelica Conti, Azra Valani and Amanda Clark.

The celebrities are all geared up to put on their game faces as they face off against each other in this one-of-a-kind reality show this festive season.
