NBC Olympics and Paralympics recently tweeted a video via their official X account. The video carried the caption, “With the #ParisOlympics happening this summer, Katie Ledecky talks about what it’s like going into an Olympic year.” The video showcased a reporter taking a brief moment of Ledecky for a poolside interview.

The reporter asked, “As the calendar turns and you go into a process of a big challenging year like you’ve done so many times, does it feel the same in preparation or does it feel different every time?” Answering this, Katie Ledecky said, “It feels different every time. I think just different years, different experiences under my belt.”

She further added, “I’m older now, just little things are different, but I’m enjoying it all the same and I try to use my experience to my benefit as I move forward here.” The interview took place shortly after Katie Ledecky left her opponents behind in the 400m women’s freestyle event. Interestingly, while results in swimming are usually decided by milliseconds, Ledecky won the 400m race by 2.2 seconds. In fact, she won the 1500m race with almost a minute to spare.
