During the show, it was clear that the legendary swimmer wasn’t quite aware of the show’s concept. The champion athlete ended up getting the boot earlier than he hoped for. Nevertheless, he mentioned that he had fun in the house. It was a new experience for the 12x Olympic medalist. However, when he got home, a grand reunion awaited him.
Ryan Lochte flooded with love
After his elimination, Ryan got back to celebrate his return. Although his early elimination bummed him out, he missed his family a lot. The legend revealed in an interview in 2019, how he “attacked” his wife, Kayla Reid, with affection on seeing her after so long.
But perhaps, the most heartwarming part of his reunion was meeting his son. He happily exclaimed, “I saw my son, I tackled him to the floor, I was wrestling with him and crying, just because I was so happy”. The swimmer’s son, Caiden Lochte, was born back in June 2017. The couple later went on to have a daughter, Liv Lochte, the same year.
The show turned out to be a new experience for the Olympic swimmer. While he has witnessed his fair share of controversies, he maintained that he would rather get back to swimming. All the fights, manipulation, and forming alliances weren’t worth going back in again for the Olympian.
The silver lining of the situation
While Ryan may never go back to the house, he did end up with something more precious. The Olympic swimmer got out of the show but scored two new good friends – Jonathan Bennett and Joey Lawrence. The actors had teamed up with the swimmer on different occasions. Although Ryan faced eviction, he hit it off well with both the actors, who he looks forward to meeting post-show.

Having a competitive nature ran in the Olympian’s blood. Even when the rules called for laying low, the athlete couldn’t help his sporty instinct. It was widely agreed that this nature got him eliminated. However, Ryan doesn’t seem to mind and looked forward to watching upcoming episodes.
