Phelps’ mother talks about her ideal house
In a special interview with ‘Baltimore Magazine’, years ago, Debbie Phelps took fans for her house tour. Her harbor-front condo home was a perfect blend of modernity and her life’s close memories. The impressive house was the epitome of beauty, elegance, and style. She walked the interviewer across her home and proudly showed the three parasols mounted against the charcoal wallpaper.

Talking about the memories attached to it, the mom of three said, “I carried those back from Fukuoka,” She also talked about the charcoal wallpaper used in the foyer of her Carlton Residences condominium in Federal Hill. Diving into the details of her style, she added, “when I walk in, I want my home to almost open its arms and wrap me up in them.”?
She moved there because she wanted a larger space. During the interview, she said, “I want it to be comfortable. I want it to be home.” She also expressed her desire to portray the various memories with the help of her home.
She stated, “I want my home to tell the story.” Even fans can carry that it’s not just Debbie who has a story to tell about but also the house’s walls. They, too, have witnessed all the achievements and defeats that the Phelps family had gone through!

Michael Phelps and his mother?
It’s just not the lavish decors that make a house ‘home’. Irrespective of what’s there inside the house, it’s the people that make it liveable. The house is a testimony to all the tough and happy times the family goes through together. And there’s one relationship that the Carlton Residences stood testimony to was that of Phelps and his mother.

Having seen several adversities, the mother-son duo stood firm. Whether supporting Phelps in his matches or taking a stand, the mother has done it all. Also, Phelps never misses a chance to express his gratitude for his mother. Even when everyone gave up on him, Debbie stayed by his side.
