Day 4 of the 2023 US Open Swimming Championship saw a plethora of talented swimmers and their incredible performances. Each and every event of the competition served an adrenaline rush to its spectators and so did the men’s 200m Backstroke, as the 200m backstroke discipline saw a major upset.
American swimming prodigy, Kieran Smith faced an upset after Hungarian swimmer, Hubert Kos’ won the men’s 200m Backstroke.

The 200m Backstroke on day 4 of the Open meet witnessed a tight race among some of the best swimmers. Hubert Kos stood atop the podium after his stupendous performance at the 200m Backstroke and left behind Kieran Smith.

The SwimSwam Live took to their X account to announce the win of this event. The caption carried, “Hubert Kos wins the men’s 200 back at the #ToyotaUSOpen”. Kos clinching gold clocked a time of 1:55.95, in the second position was Kieran Smith who touched the wall in the timeframe of 1;57.51. In the third position was Kain Van Westering with a score of 1:58.63.
