The ‘Flying Fish’ retired in 2016 after winning five Olympics medals. However, a video of him caused chaos among his fan back in 2017. In the viral video, Michael made a mysterious announcement regarding Olympics 2032.

Will Michael Phelps mark a comeback in 2032?

In a video, the 23-time Olympic gold medalist stated, “Yesterday was a really fun day in the pool. I have an announcement to make. I’m gonna give you guys a teaser aahh gonna be training for 2032. But I can’t answer any specific questions. I’m going to tell you exactly what it is at the end of the week.”

Michael also added, “It’s so hard to not to give any hints. Ah, I want to, but I can’t, I can’t, I can’t. I have to make you wait.” His fans started going crazy over his video and finding the reason behind his 2032 statement.

Meanwhile, a Facebook comment regarding his son Boomer Phelps captured everyones’ eyes. The comment read, “2032 will be Boomer’s debut at his first Olympic, is my guess.”

This comment hinted at the reason behind the Baltimore Bullet’s announcement. Soon after the video, the news of little Boomer training for the Olympics news came out. In 2017, Michael started training his little son. Michael stated, “I’m not teaching Boomer to master the butterfly just yet, but #Trainingfor2032 includes safe water play that helps build comfort and confidence in the water.”

Michael passing on his legacy to Boomer 

In May 2016, the decorated swimmer and his wife, Nicole Johnson, had their first child. They named him Boomer Robert Phelps; he was born before the 2016 Olympics. In addition, his wife brought the young toddler to see his father’s final performances. Since Boomer came into the life of Michael, he witnessed many changes as a father. One of them was the responsibilities that come along.

After Boomer, Michael and Nicole had two more kids, namely, Beckett and Maverick. A few months ago, the couple was also spotted sending their sons to school. Eventually, once, Michael stated that his coach Bob Bowman even trains them sometimes in the pool.
