His signature sinews and pre-show stretching routines, however, take as much precedence as his gliding feats on the water. The Baltimore Bullet has clinched multiple wins by incorporating this warmup and loosening his 6’4 frame before tackling the turquoise waters in the Olympics. Juxtaposing the same warmup routine to his golfing feats has also served him well, as he recently struck paparazzi and his ardent fans alike with his warmups at a golf game.
After soaking his swimming cap out to dry, golf became his second love in his repertoire. They say that old habits die hard and lo-and-behold, this same warmup could be seen at the WM Phoenix Open as well. It seems that the warm up that struck fear in his opponents’ hearts is here to stay.

Treading the golf course in February 2024, the 23-time Olympic Gold medalist showcased a post on Instagram. The Flying Fish wrote, “The warm-up will never change…” The most decorated Olympian was seen at the golf course, activating his muscles before landing a big wining shot, presumably.

Phelps was seen at the pro am event arms akimbo, golf stick beside him and his signature warm up routine being noticed by all and sundry. Phelps has been lately focusing on perfecting the mechanics of his golf swings. Having been trained in the adept sleight of hand and mechanics needed for the sport by Tiger Woods, ex coach and many others, his love for golf has reached an infallible height. Taking to his IG, fans noted his classic switcheroo and hearkened back praises of the same warm-up stretch back to his swimming glory days.

Drawing parallels to his warm up, fans heap praises
Taking a trip down memory lane, a huge fan of Phelps comments, “Nobody can defeat him after he done doing his warmup.” A retired American gymnast, Alec Yoder, who had represented the US in the 2020 Olympics also put up, “Never gets old”.

A follower of Phelps, it seems, admitted, “He used to do this before jumping into the swimming pool now it’s “signature”, what a man, what a dedication 5 straight year of hard work without taking a single day gap… the man with powerful mental strength.
