Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian in history. The swimming legend has the most Olympic gold medals (23). Phelps also has three silver and two bronze medals and tens of world championship medals in both long and short courses. During his illustrious career, Phelps also broke over 25 world records. The Baltimore Bullet currently lives in Arizona with his family. And he makes frequent appearances at the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball games.

However, his most recent trip to Chase Field with his family was a special night for the Olympian. It was special since the Arizona Diamondbacks took on the Baltimore Orioles and both hold a special place in Phelps’ heart. The legendary swimmer took to his social media to highlight his love for both cities.

Baltimore is where Phelps was born and grew up while Arizona has been his home now for several years. Naturally, fans would have expected the swimmer to pick a side. But Phelps’ Instagram story reflected his love for both teams. He uploaded a picture with his family and in the backdrop was the magnificent Chase Field, the ballpark of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Phelps and his family could be seen smiling as he wrote,?“Two of my squads!!!”?as he referred to both baseball teams.

Phelps tagged both the team’s Instagram handles along with his family’s and further wrote,?“Tonight I win no matter what!”.?This may have disappointed the ultras of both teams. However, Phelps showcased both teams were equally close to his heart and he must have been cheering for them both.

Phelps’s hometown team ended up winning the game 7-3. This meant that the Arizona Diamondbacks’ poor run of form continued and they have now lost four of their last five ball games. As for Phelps, he may have retired from swimming, but he has not left the sporting realm and continues to dabble in different sports.

Michael Phelps shares a common passion with Derek Jeter – their love for baseball. Over the years, Phelps has been a constant in different ballparks with multiple appearances at Chase Field and Camden Yards. In fact, on several occasions, he has been called on by the Arizona Diamondbacks to throw the ceremonial first pitch of the game.

Another sport that was picked up by the swimmer was golf. After his retirement, Phelps could be frequently seen on the golf course, passionately swinging his golf clubs. In recent times, Phelps has also participated in the ICON series where he represented the USA alongside the likes of 15-time PGA Tour winner Fred Couples.
