Katie Ledecky, the ten-time Olympic medalist, created her career’s best record in the Indianapolis FINA World Cup meeting on Saturday. In no time, she finished the 800-meter all-women’s short course freestyle category.
Katie, who earned her third gold medal three years in a row in last year’s Tokyo Olympics, recently created one of her proudest world records.

Katie Ledecky is famous for claiming many titles and wins to her name. She created history in the Indianapolis FINA World Cup by creating a new world record. The swimmer broke her second world record by completing the 800 m freestyle yard in 7:57.42, which is almost two seconds faster than Spain?s Mireia Belmonte’s 2013 record.

Not only the 800 m category, but Katie also created another world record in the 1500 m freestyle category on the previous Saturday at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre. On winning the race, the swimmer told Associated Press,
“I knew that record was within reach just based on some things I’ve done in training, especially my distance stuff [as it] has felt really good this fall,
She continued;
“So I felt locked into the pace.”

Usually, Katie does not participate in the short course events. But she finished the competition in just 15:08.24. It was 10 seconds faster than Germany’s Sarah Wellbrock’s (15:18.01) previously set record in 2019.

In a span of 10 days, Ledecky broke two world records at the FINA World Cup in Indianapolis and Toronto. However, she has broken many other records as well this year. She won the women’s 4?200 relay and bagged her 18th gold at the Budapest World Championships. In the same league, she won her 400m freestyle gold by easily creating a new championship record of 3:58.15.
