US swimmer Kate Douglass’ 2023 season has earned her some bigger achievements. At the onset of the 2023 US Open Swimming Championship, the 22-year-old swimming sensation already boasts of having six medals at the 2023 Fukuoka World Aquatics Championship. Kate Douglass’ outings there even posed a threat to the GOAT Katie Ledecky who already made history in Fukuoka this year. However, her achievement spree didn’t end there. 

Kate Douglass also continued her stellar run at the national level as well. Now, those stellar performances have lofted Kate into a prestigious list where Katie Ledecky made an appearance previously. 

The Forbes lists Kate Douglass in their 30 under 30

Kate Douglass received her featuring in the Forbes 30 under 30 list. Defining her achievements, Forbes declared her so – far career as, “one of history’s most dominant collegiate careers in any sport,” However she is not the only one from the aquatics background to be featured there. As the Swimming World Magazine’s IG post captioned, “Maddie Musselman, Kate Douglass Named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Sports List”

Forbes defined the list as belonging to North America. They set up the jury’s panel consisting of Renee Montgomery, WNBA proprietor, Carolyn Kindle, proprietor of St. Louis City SC, Devin Booker, NBA player for Phoenix Suns and Sal Galatioto, owner of Galatioto Sports Partners. Track and field sensation Sha’Carri Richardson also made it to the prestigious list.

Katie Ledecky remains the all-star alumni on the Forbes list

Kate Douglass and Katie Ledecky shared the title of the Female Athletes of the Year in the Golden Goggle Awards this year. But that wasn’t the only stage where both these swimming sensations’ names came together. In 2016, Katie Ledecky was featured in the Forbes 30 under 30 list for her outstanding performances in the Olympics. In the 2024, 30 under 30 lists, the swimming GOAT found her in the all-star alumni league.

The Forbes authority has preferred to add, “highlight the all-star athletes, innovative founders and accomplished business professionals defining the future of the industry” as the reason for choosing the individuals for the list. Kate Douglass justified those mentioned roles in recent times by steamrolling through different stroke events. In Fukuoka, the 22-year-old swimmer participated in six uncommon events. With that, Kate has amplified her participation chances in almost five unique events in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Now, all she would be waiting for is to continue her best run in the US Open Swimming and in the big event next year.
