“Either Ready to Move On or Try Again”: Michael Phelps Left No Stone Unturned to Win Back Nicole Johnson After Their Ugly Breakup Before Marriage

The most decorated Olympian, Michael Phelps, spoke up about his struggles with mental health while competing as a professional swimmer. But his wife, Nicole Johnson, stood by him like a rock, despite their eight-year on-and-off relationship before their wedding.

In several interviews, Phelps poured Nicole Johnson Phelps with accolades for supporting him throughout his career. Intrinsically, internet users were interested in learning how Michael Phelps met his wife. However, the beginning of their relationship wasn’t that much easier for Phelps.

During an interview, Phelps narrated, how he felt after parting his ways with Nicole in 2012. He further elaborated, “I wanted just to tell her how I felt; I didn’t want to live my life without her and have her not knowing how I felt. I was ready for whatever she said to me.”

Elaborating how a simple step changed his life, Phelps said, “Either ready to move on or try again, but I wanted to just express my feelings to her, and that was something that changed our life and put us where we are today which is the best we’ve ever been.”

In 2012, as they split up, they probably couldn’t leave each other’s minds. This led to Michael proposing to Nicole on February 21, 2015, and they wed on June 13, 2016, the following year. The bond between Phelps and Johnson had witnessed many highs and lows. In addition, they faced considerable challenges to get to where they are now.

Nicole won the title of Miss California in 2010; she also took part in the Miss USA competition, and was placed ninth on the list. Their wedding took place in 2016; meanwhile, the bride’s maid of honor, Ellice Boone, captured their lovely seashore wedding on camera. In addition, the couple posted pictures from their special day to Instagram after the wedding. Following their nuptials, Boomer Robert Phelps, Michael and Nicole’s first child, was born in 2016.
