Michael Phelps dominated the pool in 2008 by taking home eight gold medals. Still, he continued his hard work for more and participated in the 2012 London Olympics. After this, he decided to retire but soon realized his decision was wrong. Following this, Michael joined the 2016 Rio Olympics. Again, he cemented his status as the GOAT of the pool, by stacking up one outstanding performance after another.

Apart from his swimming-legend status, another thing that makes him legendary is his fatherhood. But, when it comes to the kids, Phelps’s understanding is way better.

In 2020, Phelps shared his inner urge to teach kids during an interview with People. Talking about kids, Phelps has three sons with his wife, Nicole Johnson. In 2017, he even stated an unusual prediction for 2032 for his son, Boomer Phelps, regarding the Olympics. 

During a conversation with People, Michael addressed, “I want to continue the sport of swimming. I’m not going to give up until I think it’s reached where I want it to go. There are too many kids who are drowning for lack of water safety. That’s something I’d like to do. Teaching kids to live an active lifestyle. I’ll be working with kids for the rest of my life.”

Swimming is a crucial life-saving skill because drowning is still one of the leading causes of unintentional death, especially in children. It’s essential to remember that kids who seem at ease in the water aren’t always good swimmers.

In 2017, Michael shared an unusual announcement on his Facebook live. In the video, he stated“Yesterday was a really fun day in the pool. I have an announcement to make. I’m gonna give you guys a teaser aahh gonna be training for 2032. But I can’t answer any specific questions. I’m going to tell you exactly what it is at the end of the week.”

Since he retired in 2016, Michael has been chiefly concerned with his family. In addition, He also created his business with a focus on swimming and training apparel. From time to time, the Olympic legend shared the momentous occasions that are happening with the modern swimmers of the Olympics.
