It is a matter of great pride that without having the ability to hear, deaf people have the will to be on top. The United States is gearing up for the 2023 World Deaf Swimming Championships. This will be taking place in mid-August and will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The USA has a good record when it comes to the Deaf championships. They had beautifully dominated swimming at the 24th Deaf Olympics which was held in Brazil in May 2022. A lot of effort has been put into this year’s championship as well.

Team USA has put a lot of energy and dedication into looking for the right participants. The amount of motivation and encouragement this team provides to the disabled is commendable. They hope that they will keep their record intact and will stay the best. The team is now all set to head towards the championship.

Team USA heads toward the World Deaf Swimming Championships

After looking for the right team for the World Deaf Swimming Championships 2023, the USA team is ready to roar high. This is the 6th World deaf championship and will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 13th-19th August 2023 in the Olympic Swimming Complex. This championship is a long-course meters competition that will incorporate more than 30 countries and 300 participants. After selecting the ideal participants, US is sending a team of seven- swimmer roster to the championships.

The running head of the US team is Carli Cronk, and they are being led by coach Jon Maccoll. Cronk is known for the record he holds in the deaf world record in six various events. USA Swimming has announced on Twitter about the team leaving for the championships.

They stated, “Team USA is en route to Buenos Aires for Deaf Worlds.” The team is excited for the performance and Cronk wants them to perform just like in May 2022. the USA Team has taken its time and churned out the best team members for the 2023 championship.

The USA team picks the best athletes for Deaf Swimming Championships

After a lot of effort, the USA team has churned out the best possible team members for the competition. Most of the athletes chosen for the team were a part of the 2022 championship. Carli Cronk, Brooke Thompson, and Matthea Gaines will be seen. Gaines is for the women’s roster and Collin Davis, Samuel Kohm, Syler Pizzolato, and Holden Ewan will be seen in the men’s team. Almost all deaf world record holders were considered for the team.

Matthew Koltz is also one of the best swimmers and holds a deaf world record. However, because of his prior commitments, he won’t be seen in the 2023 team. USA Deaf Swimming has given its best in forming the team to participate in the 2023 world deaf swimming championships.

With the dedication they had while searching for the best members, they also expressed the requirement of sponsorships and donors. This was done so that the team do not face any crises as they did in 2021. The USA team have formed a strong team this year and are now on their way to Argentina to bring the trophy home.
