While water sports are always fun, they come with their share of risks. Activities like swimming and surfing carry high chances of mishaps that can only be avoided with proper safety. Recently, the swimming world was shocked when the news of a 15-year-old?s death broke out. Besides the young swimmer, five others were also pulled out from a beach in New Jersey.
On May 28, a Facebook post about the death of a 15-year-old from drowning on Sunday, went viral on the internet. The saddening news gained massive traction, with many users jumping to the comment section to express their condolences for the unfortunate loss.
15-year-old died due to the absence of lifeguards on the beach

On Sunday, a few people chose to swim at Beach B at Sandy Hook. Suddenly, the voice of a screaming mother reached several others in the area, as her 15-year-old son was drowning. Beach B was unguarded after 4:30 pm as the lifeguards had duty at Beach C, D, and G on Memorial Day. As a result, lifeguards and bystanders from Sandy Hook, Sea Bright, and Highlands areas immediately rushed to the emergency spot.
However, sadly, the 15-year-old has lost his life when he reached the Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Of the other 5 people pulled from the water, two victims were given medical aid at the same hospital. Another two were taken to the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune Township, while the remaining victim refused medical attention.

Another user expressed that lifeguards should always be present at all beaches, ?This is very sad. All the beaches should have lifeguards especially on a holiday weekend. These were kids .? One user expressed disappointment about the absence of lifeguards, ? Here we go… every year unsupervised areas people lose their lives…so very very sad.?
However, someone indicated that people must have been careful because the news warned people about the strong currents, ?So sad the news mentioned all day about the rip current. RIp?
