Recently, Phelps participated in the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am for a golf tournament. The champion showed off his prowess in the sport and ended up presenting his best self. The GOAT took home the gold, and fans couldn’t help but praise his penchant for the winning position. However, one of the most special wishes came from Phelps’ partner, Nicole Phelps.

While it isn’t a surprise that Michael Phelps is one of the most decorated athletes in the US, his talents take him across various sports apart from swimming. The champion grew up playing a wide variety of sports, including football. In fact, Phelps once wrote in his book about how he wanted to become a professional NFL player before choosing to swim. Golf was, therefore, just another passion for the GOAT.
Recently, Phelps participated in the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am for a charitable cause. While the star is an amateur golfer, he easily showcased his proficiency in the game. A decorated Olympian with many golds to his name, Phelps couldn’t help himself and won the trophy for the championship!
From the flood of congratulatory messages, one of them stood out. Michael Phelps’ wife, Nicole Phelps, took to Instagram to congratulate her hubby for his big achievement.?The story posted on her profile?had Phelps’ photo with the caption,?“Congrats babe on your closest to the pin”.?Phelps later thanked his wife for her wishes on his social media too.

In his book,?Michael Phelps- Beneath The Surface, the swimming legend opened up about his relationship with his mother, Debbie Phelps. The champion has always been attached to her, and Debbie was the one who encouraged him to follow his heart throughout his childhood. However, when the swimmer wanted to initially pursue a career in football,?Debbie had some opinions.

He recalled in his book how Debbie was hesitant since football would hinder his academics and swimming practices. While he went on to become a swimming legend, it’s no secret that Phelps had the potential to become a champion of any sport he took an interest in. Whether it was golf, swimming, or football, Phelps ruled them all.
